AskCodi constantly updates their models and tools. The integration into VS Code works really well. Sometimes the autocomplete lags a bit, but recent updates have made the experience a lot more responsive. It is great to have the AI chat directly inside the IDE to "discuss" coding problems or debug issues. With one click, the suggested code from the chat can be transferred into the code, or from the file into the chat. Currently the VS Code plugin has only visibility of the open file. AskCodi offers Codespaces through their website, which allows to work with the entire codebase, and not just the current file for autocomplete. They are also treating early supporters and lifetime deal members very generously and keep their features and limits up to date. Great service and dedication from the team!

AskCodi was an early adopter of using AI for development. Their product (which has since rebranded to AskCodi) was launched before ChatGPT was released and we've been using it since early 2022. I've been with AskCodi for a long time now (years). Regardless of any bugs or issues that I've run into over time, what currently makes me a strong supporter is the continuous improvement over time in both aesthetic and offering. While I would not have recommended it when I first signed up, I now do. I've yet to use a coding-focused platform that is as expansive in its offering and specific with the tools a person can take advantage of. Two constructive criticisms I have that are specific to my use case: - I hope that they eventually improve and strengthen its ability to integrate with platforms like VS Codium (integration exists, but it's limited) - When I used it for a Svelte project, the responses I received were often problematic for Svelte 5 even though the major Svelte upgrade been months prior. I had to repeatedly be explicit (even in the same thread) about the major version of Svelte I was using, which I feel can be addressed very easily. Maybe in addition to a dropdown for language, include a dropdown for major version, and then include a boilerplate note on that with my prompts. Eventually it would make sense to spin off individual models trained for specific major versions, but a duct tape fix for now would smooth out the user's experience.

Despite my limited coding knowledge (basic HTML, CSS, and a fundamental understanding of JS), I was still able to achieve excellent results. This makes it accessible even for non-developers or those with minimal coding experience. Cons For users with zero coding knowledge, this tool can still pose challenges. Even when prompted to provide complete A-to-Z code, the responses sometimes require you to fill in blanks, especially for longer or more complex code. When designing a site page by page, the tool occasionally forgets instructions after some time. For example, if you provide links for image or audio files, it may leave them blank in subsequent responses. I have not tested the newer LLMs with enhanced reasoning; they might address some of these concerns.

Limited. I've only just started using it again recently, and it's helped me perform tasks I wouldn't normally have any clue how to complete. The team are cool, and the Ui has improved massively.
